The Genetic Los Angeles Story

Founded in 2007, Genetic Los Angeles embodies the city’s spirit with premium luxurious fabrication, sexy fits and edgy styles.

Los Angeles is the World center of Jeans Excellence, and in 2016 we started manufacturing all of our denims in our own state of the art factory. Gregory Abbou joined Genetic as the partner in charge of all creative functions. Gregory added fashion photographer Monroe Alvarez, to visually communicate his aesthetic and vision.

When it comes to denim, Los Angeles magic cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world.  Under Gregory’s leadership our design team now has a symbiotic relationship with manufacturing and visual communication allowing the perfect fusion of creative vision, flawless execution, and message dissemination bringing our aesthetic to new heights.

Our amazing craftsmen have been making Jeans for decades at the highest possible standards.  We constantly reinvest in new eco-friendly equipment and technology, allowing a steady reduction of our Brand carbon footprint.

With a loyal core customer and Celebrity following, Genetic Los Angeles continues to capture the spirit of Los Angeles.

With over 20 years of experience in the Jeans industry, Gregory Abbou, has been part of many success stories in Los Angeles from Taverniti to Yanuk, Degaine, Redone, L’Agence, IRO.  Very few designers have achieved Gregory’s level of excellence and experience in creating excellent products. Fascinated by everything Americana, Gregory fuses his European heritage with an American vintage feel to create authentic products that look great and are easy to wear.

Monroe (known as MO) grew up in a family of artists and was shooting pictures by the time she was 10. She is an accomplished fashion and nature photographer, as well as a world traveler and a successful Model. MO is what would be known as a Renaissance woman and truly embodies the Spirit of Genetic, freedom, beauty, lust for life and care for the world. She joined the Genetic family just in time to lead the re-positioning of the Brand’s image. She directed and shot all the new look books, and all the website pictures, bringing out the visual message of Genetic.
